Blu Voiles — Fine Table Linen, Est. Woven to Order

Linen mats, cut like sailcloth,
set like ceremony.

We weave voile-weight linen into placemats and runners for dining rooms that treat the table as the first course. Made to order, pressed by hand, delivered flat.

Scroll

A mat is the only linen every guest touches before the first pour.

Blu Voiles began with a simple complaint from a Michelin sommelier: every placemat on the market was either paper-thin hospitality stock or too heavy to let the tablecloth breathe underneath it. We build in between — a voile-weight linen, dense enough to hold its crease, light enough to drape like the sail it's named for.

Each mat is woven in small batches, hemmed by hand with a mitred corner, and pressed flat before it ships. No two dye lots are identical, which is exactly the point — table linen with the character of the loom still in it.

The Collection

Four cloths, one loom.

Each pattern is named for a state of open water — the mood we're weaving toward at every stage, from warp to hem.

01

Marée

Deep indigo linen with a soft slub, for rooms that keep the lights low.

100% Linen — Indigo

02

Estuaire

Undyed flax with a whisper of blue in the weft — our lightest weight.

100% Linen — Natural

03

Noir Absolu

Carbon-black linen, heavyweight, for service that wants no distraction.

100% Linen — Carbon

04

Lin Cru

Raw linen finished with a brass-thread edge stitch, for daylight rooms.

100% Linen — Brass Edge

How a Cloth Is Made

Four stages, no shortcuts.

01 — Weave

Loomed to weight

Flax yarn is woven at voile density on narrow looms, kept slow enough to hold an even hand-feel edge to edge.

02 — Hem

Mitred by hand

Every corner is folded and mitred at the bench, not the machine, so the mat lies flat under glassware.

03 — Press

Steam-set crease

A single steam pass sets the fold permanently, so the mat holds its line through repeated laundering.

04 — Pack

Shipped flat

Mats travel flat between acid-free board, never folded in transit, so service starts crease-perfect.

"We reset every table between seatings. Blu Voiles is the only linen we've used that still looks pressed on the fourth wash of the week." — Head Sommelier, Coastal Tasting Room
